Low intensity combat in the Middle East for the past 30 plus years Russia is doing large scale combined arms positional warfare in Europe and its 25% or 30% modern.

I'm not sure how old this is and i also will be the first to admit i don't have a clue when it comes to war and military combat but i keep hearing how they are trying to determine where the enemy fire is coming from, to me a few small drones would make a huge difference. These boys are brave and have my full respect.

This isn’t really intense fire in 07 waziristan we were in a heavy fire fight for 5 hours we lost 6 ANA and two Americans within the first 4 minutes the rounds were hitting close within 4-8 feet

I do want to add a comment about this video, I feel bad for the people that are under advisement of higher ranking to not understand that you have two lower areas to be safe at. A bullet can go through a tree. And why wouldn't you be in the ditch. Your officer should have told you that and it's just somebody that doesn't have experience in the field. There's a big difference. You know the bullets are getting close when they whistle by you. And there is no threat cause I didn't hear any bullets. And you should never stay in one place Because this makes you a victim you got to keep moving you can't stand behind trees, if this video is real those people should get Demoed. Brave but wrong tactics here. The truck mounted 50 cal needs to unload on the enemy positions with mortar team lobbing shells into those tree lines at the enemy. These enlisted troops are clueless, the enemy was better that day. They were stationary, the enemy got closer within RPG range.

Enemies look to be about 200 meters away, looks farther from his helmet cam, lens distortion make seem farther. He's just winging shots, some were hitting low into the field. But he stayed kind of calm taking lots of incoming fire a lot of which whizzed by him.
